Pre-Owned 2021 Ford Explorer Base 4x4 in St. Louis, MO

The 2021 Ford Explorer Base stands out as a family-focused SUV with seating for up to seven and flexible cargo options, making it a reliable choice for daily routines and weekend getaways alike.

Parents seeking a practical, versatile ride for their busy households will appreciate the Explorer’s adaptable seating and rear air conditioning, which keeps everyone comfortable across three rows. The cargo area management system ensures strollers, sports gear, and groceries are organized and accessible. In four-season climates like St. Louis, the 4WD drivetrain adds confidence for school runs and family trips, helping families stay moving regardless of the weather.

Equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Explorer delivers smooth, responsive power that’s ideal for merging onto highways or carrying a full cabin of passengers. The transmission shifts seamlessly, supporting efficient city commutes and steady long-distance journeys. Four-wheel independent suspension and electronic stability control help maintain a composed ride, so families can travel with confidence even when the SUV is fully loaded.

Active safety features are at the heart of the Explorer’s design, offering parents peace of mind when transporting what matters most. Standard ABS brakes, electronic stability control, and dual front plus side impact airbags provide foundational protection across all rows. The exterior parking camera and SYNC 3 911 Assist emergency communication system add functional reassurance, supporting safe parking maneuvers and quick responses in emergencies. A rear seat reminder and knee airbags further enhance occupant safety, while LATCH anchors facilitate secure child-seat installation.

The Explorer Base trim equips families with useful features like automatic temperature control, split-folding rear seats for versatile cargo space, and a power liftgate for easier loading. Cloth captain’s chairs and dual-zone front A/C maximize comfort for both drivers and passengers. Technology highlights include SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and SiriusXM radio for entertainment on the go. The Class III Trailer Tow Package expands utility for those needing to bring along bikes or a small trailer.

In a segment filled with options, the Explorer competes directly with the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander, standing out with its robust 4WD system and turbocharged efficiency. The Explorer’s blend of configurable seating, active safety features, and towing capability makes it particularly appealing for families who prioritize flexibility and peace of mind. Its approachable design and practical amenities set it apart as a high-value choice for real-world family use.

Can the Explorer fit multiple car seats? Yes, with its third-row bench and accessible LATCH anchors, it accommodates several child seats with ease. Is the SUV equipped for all-weather driving? The 4WD system ensures stable handling in rain or snow. What warranty coverage applies for family drivers? The original Ford powertrain warranty covers 5 years or 60,000 miles from the initial in-service date, offering added reassurance.

For families ready to experience the peace of mind and flexibility the Explorer offers, Dave Sinclair Ford welcomes you to explore this 2021 Ford Explorer Base at 7466 S Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63125.
